In its continued effort to be a part of bringing relief to those affected by recent floods and landslides caused by prevailing bad weather conditions, CHEC Port City Colombo donated a consignment of dry rations for distribution to the Ministry of Disaster Management recently.
The consignment, was handed to the Minister, Hon. Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, who has given the responsibility to ministry officials to see that the goods were delivered in a fair and transparent manner. Instructions were given by the Minister for these relief packages to be sent to those affected by landslides outside the Colombo Area.
Port City Colombo also made a donation to the Gangaramaya Temple’s program of distributing roofing sheets to the flood victims. Donation has handed over to the Chief Incumbent of the Gangaramaya, Ven Galaboda Gnanissara Thero recently.
Last month in the aftermath of the floods that affected residents of the Sedawatte area in proximity to the Kelani river, Port City distributed dry rations, working closely with the navy to access people who were marooned.
